Supervisor: Kate Winderman, Ph.D.

My belief that human beings are hardwired for connection underscores my work with clients wishing to do the brave, challenging, and endlessly rewarding work that is therapy. With the understanding that we all crave closeness and know-you-to-your-core relationships, I center the therapy relationship above and beyond anything else. As a person in the world, I understand that being true to yourself — who you really are — can feel scary, foreign, and risky. In our relationship, I am committed to creating a safe, warm, and transparent space for the real, beautiful you to emerge.

I believe true healing happens when you discover yourself through the therapy relationship. As you learn that you no longer have to relate to yourself and others in your old ways (such as trying to be perfect, abandoning your needs, pretending, being on guard around others, masking vulnerability, exercising control, deflecting with humor, or hiding pieces of your true identity or story) by relating authentically to your therapist, you can begin to accept yourself and form deep, meaningful connections with others.

Building know-you-to-your-core relationships with my clients is my life's honor.

I have experience working with anxiety, depression, personality problems (recurrent conflict within self and between others), relationship concerns (family of origin issues, difficulty connecting with others, navigating intimate relationships in the wake of trauma), cultural identity development, and self-exploration. I am also trained to and enjoy offering Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), the gold-standard treatment for short-term and chronic insomnia and related sleep difficulties.

We may be a particularly good match if, on the outside, it looks like you’ve got it all figured out, but behind closed doors, you feel lonely (even when you’re surrounded by others), bone-tired, afraid of nothing and everything all at once, burnt out, directionless, anxious, on-edge, and sad about things you can’t quite explain.
