Woman, I totally get it—you might not remember the last time you slowed down, took time for yourself, or allowed self care to move a few spots up on your list before what everyone else needs from you. And sometimes, when we do find that time to pause and reflect, the inner critic voice shows up to focus on what we’re not doing enough of, goals put on the backburner, and comparison to what we “should” be.
I don’t blame you if you want to let out a big “UGH” after reading that, and also want to know right here and right now you are SO held. Being a woman in the modern world is often paired with full plates, comparison, and expectations. You’re not alone if it’s challenging to make space for yourself or find a moment to catch your breath. We’re here to advocate for you and help you create that space that feels right on your person.
Part of taking care of your mental health includes helping us see the bigger picture, and the bigger picture unfortunately involves some major expectations on women that leave us over-burdened, overworked, and often trying to balance very fine lines. Remember America Ferrera’s monologue in Barbie that made us all feel so seen and kind of gut-punched at the same time? Yeah, that. More support around the uniqueness that is being female, please.

I’ve been so grateful to find meaning in what I’ve overcome in my life, because it’s helped me connect even more deeply with the stories I get to witness. While I’m always here to find the opportunity in a challenging moment, I also want to be real and acknowledge that many emotions can show up when we’re on the cusp of a breakthrough. Know that you’re held fully, without judgment. Connecting with ourselves fully might mean more beautiful parts are asking to be seen and we make space for every single one of them.
Working with people to find themselves and what helps them live their most fulfilling life has led me to another passion of helping couples do the same. It lights me up to expand my role into a relationship coach, supporting couples in foundational skills of communication, conflict resolution, stress management, and creating a shared vision for the future.

At Modern Therapy, our team of coaches and therapists work together, learning from one another, sharing skills and insights, and investing time into our own professional development to offer you the most support possible.
The role of a coach and a therapist may be different, but we often see clients who find value in working with both a coach and a therapist simultaneously in their experience here at Modern. Your coach and therapist may collaborate when it’s in your highest interest with your permission, but you will always be a part of that conversation and in the know so you can guide the way you show up in each space.
Coaching and therapy are bi-directional and symbiotic with one another. Coaching focuses on more structured sessions aimed at clarifying action steps that will move you forward toward your specified goals in a niche area of life, health, or career. It thrives on goal-setting, resource sharing, and guidance in areas such as homework or experiments to try between sessions. In a coaching session, you’re learning how to hold yourself accountable for what you want most.
Therapy is focusing on some deeper foundational work that may not have clear goals or action steps as you learn more about yourself and what’s shaped you. As you do this work, it will enable you to bring a more energetic and ready version of yourself to coaching sessions that are tailored to specific pieces of your overall story that’s nurtured in your therapy sessions.
