More on Dr. Lynn

“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of human freedoms - to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”

- Viktor E. Frankl

The story.

I learned how to adjust to the changes surrounding me at an early age.

My story starts in Texas, where I was born. My dad’s career took him to various locations across the world, and my entire family came along for the experience. While traveling to places like England and Canada helped shape me, it was often at the cost of moving schools and learning to adjust to different cultures and ways of living.

Our moves would often fall in the middle of the school year, and I was no stranger to the feeling of being an outsider seeking connection and acceptance. I found myself pushing through anxiety to make friends and handle the constant change. Fast forward to my teenage years, and (as most therapists do), I realized my love for helping people. My encounters with anxious feelings, longing for stability, and learning about human nature across the globe brought me to a career in psychology and right here with you today.

The journey to pursue my dream career took me to even more locations across the country. My gratitude for going after that value-driven growth will always be there, but I knew I wanted to return to my roots in Houston. Now, I get to bring everything I learned to help this fantastic community and focus on what I love about this work: the connection, process, and healing power of a therapeutic relationship.

When I’m not working with our fantastic clients, I love spending time with my family, friends, and two big dogs. I love a good night out exploring Houston’s incredible food scene!

I can’t wait to partner with you on your healing journey!

My training.

I completed my doctorate of psychology at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, with an internship at Broughton State Psychiatric Hospital in Morganton, North Carolina. After the internship, I returned to Houston and completed my postdoctoral training with Baylor College of Medicine at Ben Taub Hospital. I had the privilege of being trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and other evidence-based treatment modalities for depression and anxiety.

My commitment.

I commit to walking with you every step of your healing journey. I commit to showing up authentically as I ask you to do. I commit to being fully present and creating a safe space to feel what you need to feel and navigate the difficult things life throws at you.

Are you ready to to feel safe, seen, and valued?
