Margot Kahn (She/Her)

LMFT

I’m an avid story seeker and carry layered stories of my own. As your therapist, I want to hear your story. We all have one and my guess is that your story has led you here in hopes of not only understanding yourself better but writing fuller chapters too. As people, we all have our unique experiences, but emotions like worry, heartbreak, and yearning are universal. I want to be the one that helps you make sense of it all. We’re going to process any heaviness that’s weighing on you and choose new ways to live. You are the expert of your life, and I’m here to help you explore and identify what’s helpful and what’s not. We’re human. And the cool thing about the human experience is that it’s so diverse. It’s complex and real. That’s what makes life so interesting. We have the power to let go of things that don’t serve us anymore and practice the things that bring joy and fulfillment.

I love working with anxiety, relational difficulties, and sadness and have a special joy in working with people from all cultures, ethnicities, and backgrounds (I speak Spanish too). My experiences and training have allowed me to be more attuned to cultural and societal struggles. In my work, I have found that we are able to open ourselves up to change and yet not let go of our values. Multiculturalism is something that influences us, implicitly and explicitly. We really do live in a matrix of diverse labels, groups, and orientations. What have we absorbed from our surroundings that serves us? What things are just blurring our filter from seeing ourselves through the best light? That’s what we’re going to decipher. Whatever your story is and wherever you come from, you can count on me to hold a safe and non-judgmental place for us to grow. Let’s have courageous conversations. Let’s get vulnerable. Together, we’re going to find our unique rhythm and flow. Life’s about growing through what we go through.
